  • No More Caries and Periodontal Disease! Biology for Prevention and Defense

To prevent dental caries and periodontal disease and protect a healthy mouth, the latest biology is needed. Without understanding the true causes of these diseases, there is no way to treat and prevent them. Microbial shift is a crucial event for disease initiation. If you can make your patients understand this key word, your patient management will be a great success. TBI to remove 100% plaque, is now obsolete. Patient management should be tailored to the pathogenicity of each patient's biofilm.

  • What is "Custom-Made Periodontic Treatment?"-Learnt from Hospitalized Patients-

Deterioration of the general condition causes a large change in the oral environment, resulting in disruption of the oral resident microflora. We need to manage oral cavities of inpatients more carefully while assessing their general condition. In this lecture, we would like to introduce custom-made periodontal treatment to maintain oral health for inpatients in our hospital.

  • "Self-Care" Key Points for Every Patient

In periodontal treatment, self-care by patients is the key to successful treatment.
I believe we, as dental hygienists, need to motivate patients to take a strong interest in their personal oral condition through a sustainable self-care routine. I endeavor to inspire my patients through education and openness.
I find explaining why we use a specific oral cleaning tool or toothpaste during treatment is helpful to encourage successful behavior.
In this lecture, I will expand on how I have implemented this in my clinical practice and elaborate on my findings.
